Tour description

A great tour designed to walk back in time through the history of the Eternal City.

We will start from the Colosseum, the symbol of Rome. Our expert English speaking guide will tell you everything about this majestic monument and its role in the ancient Rome. You will learn the history of the Roman empire and all about some of its most interesting people: the Gladiators!

We will then move to the Forum, the place where the public, religious and economic life used to take place in the ancient Rome. Our guide will tell you all about its beautiful churches, pagan temples and arches.

The next destination will be the fascinating San Clemente. This wonderful Basilica will literally allow you to travel back in time. Descending underground you will see how it is built on different layers. You will have the chance to admire a Mithraeum dating back to the 2nd century, a Roman nobleman’s house, a pagan temple, a lower basilica from the 4th century and an upper basilica from the Middle Age.
